Gut and bile bacteria in bile duct widening study

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a widened bile duct (biliary dilatation) and are scheduled for surgery to remove it.
  • You do not have any serious whole-body diseases (like advanced heart, lung, or kidney problems).
  • The tissue sample taken during your surgery is expected to be large enough and in good condition.
  • If you are a healthy organ donor, your bile duct tissue normally discarded during transplant surgery can be used as a control.
  • For the control group, you do not have any bile duct widening condition.
