Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with rectal or esophageal cancer (confirmed by a biopsy).
  • Your treatment plan includes surgery to remove the cancer with the goal of a cure.
  • You will receive standard chemotherapy or radiation before or after surgery.
  • You can give permission to use your blood and medical information for research.
  • You agree to give blood samples before treatment, at 3 months, and at 6 months after treatment.
