Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed or suspected rectal polyp or tumour larger than 2 cm, or known rectal cancer, and you’re having surgery or an exam
  • You are 18 years or older and can give informed consent
  • You’re healthy enough (clinically fit) for the planned elective procedure
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy within 3 months (for people who can become pregnant)
  • You do not have major kidney or liver problems
  • You are not allergic to iodine-based contrast dye, and you can safely receive ICG (a special dye) based on listed medication and medical limits
