Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have been hospitalized in intensive care after poisoning.
  • The main poison is a type that can be removed by activated charcoal.
  • You are on a breathing machine because of the poisoning (or will be soon).
  • You have a tube through your nose into your stomach (or one can be placed safely).
  • You are not pregnant, not breastfeeding, and don't have certain digestive problems.
  • The poison is not alcohol, gas, metals, party drugs, or caustic liquids.
