Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You are on peritoneal dialysis for at least 3 months, or on hemodialysis for at least 3 months and planning a kidney transplant, or have normal kidney function and need hernia repair surgery.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form.
  • You have not had peritonitis in the last 3 months (if on peritoneal dialysis).
  • You have no history of abdominal tumors that spread to the belly lining.
