Who can take part

  • You are pregnant and between 20 and 42 weeks.
  • You have been diagnosed with HELLP syndrome (specific lab results: high LDH, high liver enzymes, low platelets).
  • You do not have other chronic illnesses like lupus, kidney disease, or active infections.
  • Your baby has no major birth defects or pregnancy loss at the time of diagnosis.
  • For the control group: you are a healthy pregnant woman with normal blood pressure and no protein in urine.
