Monitoring newborns to prevent sudden collapse after birth

Sudden Unexpected Postnatal Collapse -SUPC

This trial studies a new non-invasive monitoring device to detect early signs of sudden unexpected postnatal collapse (SUPC) in healthy newborns. Participation may help your baby receive extra monitoring in the first hours of life to catch any problems early.

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born at or after 35 weeks of pregnancy
  • Your baby must have a 5-minute Apgar score of 8 or higher
  • Your baby must not have any major birth defects
  • Your baby cannot have a family history of silver allergy
  • You must give written permission (informed consent) for your baby to join
