This study looks at how mastectomy and breast reconstruction affect a woman's sexual well-being. If you are having a mastectomy for breast cancer or a preventive mastectomy because you are at high risk, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are having a mastectomy to treat breast cancer or to prevent it because you are at high risk
  • You may have one or both breasts removed
  • If only one breast is removed, you may or may not need surgery on the healthy breast
  • Any type of breast reconstruction is allowed, whether using your own tissue or implants
  • You are not joining if you have had breast cancer treatment before and now need surgery for a return of cancer
