Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You are scheduled for a planned (not emergency) laparoscopic hernia repair
- You are in overall good health (ASA I to III)
- You are willing and able to give written consent
- You have no known allergies to numbing medicines like bupivacaine
- You do not have chronic pain or take strong pain medicines regularly
