Who can take part

  • You are pregnant with one baby, head-down.
  • You are at least 37 weeks pregnant.
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a reason to start labor with a balloon catheter.
  • Your cervix is not yet ready for labor (Bishop score less than 6).
  • You live within a 30-minute drive from the hospital.
  • A family member or friend can stay with you to help you get home after the balloon is placed.
