Who can take part
- You are an adult (18 or older) having heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine.
- Your platelet count is below 150,000 before surgery.
- You can receive the first study injection 10 to 14 days before your surgery.
- You will need to take blood thinners for at least one month after surgery.
- You do not have a bleeding disorder like hemophilia or a history of blood clots or stroke.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking certain medications that could interfere.
