Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 45 years old and pregnant.
  • You are between 26 weeks and 35 weeks 6 days pregnant with one baby.
  • You have been hospitalized for preeclampsia (high blood pressure with protein in urine or signs of organ problems).
  • Your doctors expect you to stay in the hospital until delivery.
  • You and your baby are stable enough to wait at least 72 hours after the medicine is given.
  • You do not have certain other pregnancy problems or severe health conditions (like severe high blood pressure, kidney disease, or active infections).
