Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older and in good general health.
  • You have at least 20 natural teeth.
  • You have been diagnosed with gum disease (gingivitis) that causes bleeding when brushing or flossing.
  • You can read and understand basic English (high school level).
  • You are not currently using antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs, and have not used them in the past 3 months.
  • You do not smoke, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not take birth control pills.
