Who can take part

  • Your child is between 0 and 18 years old.
  • Your child is having a planned (not emergency) surgery or procedure that requires anesthesia.
  • Your child needs an IV line for the procedure.
  • You can give written permission for your child to be in the study.
  • Your child does not have an infection, swelling, or wound on the arm or leg where the IV is placed.
