Who can take part

  • You are 19 years or older and pregnant with one baby at full term (at least 37 weeks).
  • Your cesarean section is planned (not an emergency).
  • You do not have high blood pressure, preeclampsia, or eclampsia.
  • You are not carrying more than one baby (twins or triplets).
  • Your weight is at least 110 pounds (50 kg) and your BMI is 35 or less.
  • You do not have kidney disease, heart disease, or asthma.
