Who can take part

  • You have symptoms of acute myocarditis, like sudden chest pain, trouble breathing, or an irregular heartbeat.
  • You have had an abnormal EKG, high troponin levels (a sign of heart muscle damage), or unusual results on an ultrasound of your heart.
  • You do not have other heart conditions such as blocked arteries, valve disease, or certain types of cardiomyopathy.
  • You do not have a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs).
