Fun video games vs. standard therapy for kids with CP

Cerebral Palsy

This study compares three ways to help children with Cerebral Palsy improve their movement: playing active video games with a sensor (biofeedback), playing active video games alone, or doing standard physical therapy. The goal is to see which approach works best and is most fun for kids.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 12 years old.
  • Your child must have a type of Cerebral Palsy that mainly affects one side of the body or both legs, but not so severely that they cannot walk without help (GMFCS level I or II).
  • Your child should be able to understand and follow simple directions like 'sit down' or 'pick up the red ball.'
  • Your child must be able to stand and move, with or without minimal assistance.
  • Your child should not have severe vision, hearing, or behavior issues, and should not have uncontrolled epilepsy or other conditions that make physical activity unsafe.
