Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a kidney stone or stone in the upper/mid ureter that shows up on X-ray and is 20 mm or smaller.
- Your kidney function is normal or nearly normal (eGFR at least 60).
- You are healthy enough to undergo shock wave treatment (ESWL).
- You are not pregnant.
- You do not have an active urinary tract infection that is not being treated.
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners that cannot be stopped.
- You have not had surgery on the same side kidney before.
- Your stone can be seen on X-ray or other reliable imaging.
