Who can take part

  • Your baby must be at least 37 weeks of pregnancy at birth.
  • Your baby is between 0 and 28 days old.
  • Your baby is healthy with normal breathing and stable vital signs.
  • This is the first time your baby has a heel lance.
  • Your baby has not had any pain medicine or sedatives in the 24 hours before the procedure.
  • Your baby does not have any condition that affects how we measure pain.
