- You had sleeve gastrectomy (weight loss surgery that removes part of your stomach)
- You still have heartburn or acid reflux despite taking acid-reducing medicine for at least 8 weeks
- Your esophagus is long enough for the surgeon to work with (at least 3–5 cm inside the abdomen)
- You have a healthy ligamentum teres (a small ligament near your liver that can be used for the wrap)
- You do not have a swallowing disorder like achalasia or scleroderma
- You do not have high-grade dysplasia from Barrett's esophagus
