Who can take part

  • You are 60 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for a TAVR procedure (a heart valve replacement done through a tube in an artery) under general anesthesia.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30 (a measure of weight relative to height).
  • You do not have unstable blood pressure or heart rhythm problems, and you are not already on medicine for low blood pressure.
  • You do not have severe liver or kidney problems, and you have no skin infections, damage, or implanted electronic devices where the electrical pads would be placed.
