Who can take part

  • You are a woman age 18 to 70.
  • You have breast cancer that has not spread beyond the breast.
  • You are scheduled for a nipple-sparing mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction.
  • Your tumor is 5 cm or smaller (or ductal carcinoma in situ) and at least 1 cm away from the nipple.
  • You have no serious health problems, no prior chest radiation, and no other active cancer.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing, and your breast size is smaller than a D cup.
