Who can take part

  • You are a woman between 18 and 75 years old.
  • Your breast cancer is stage 0, I, II, or III and has not spread to distant parts of the body.
  • The tumor in your breast is at least 1 centimeter away from the nipple, and either 2–3 centimeters in size or can be shrunk to that size with chemotherapy before surgery.
  • You are interested in having surgery that removes breast tissue and rebuilds the breast right away, instead of breast-conserving treatment.
  • You are generally healthy enough for surgery (no serious other diseases, good mobility) and can understand the study details.
