Comparing two graft types for sinus lift surgery
Part of Mouth & dental clinical trials.
This trial tests two different bone graft materials (one is pure collagen, the other is collagen-enriched) for a procedure called sinus elevation, which builds up bone in the upper jaw so dental implants can be placed. It may help you if you need this type of bone grafting and are generally healthy.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You need a sinus lift on your upper jaw because you don't have enough bone height (less than 5 mm) below the sinus.
- You are between 30 and 80 years old.
- Your gums are healthy (any past gum disease is treated, and you have little bleeding or plaque).
- You are healthy enough for oral surgery with local anesthesia and can sign a consent form.
- If any teeth were removed at the surgery site, it was at least 12 weeks ago.
- You do not smoke more than 5 cigarettes per day, are not pregnant, and do not have certain medical conditions (like uncontrolled diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or cancer in the mouth area).

This trial tests a special platelet gel (PRF) placed during a sinus lift procedure to help bone grow. It could help you if you are missing upper back teeth and have little bone height for implants.
This study compares different types of bone graft materials used during sinus lift surgery (a procedure that builds up bone in the upper jaw to support dental implants). Researchers want to see which combination works best for long-term implant success.
This trial tests a new type of bone graft material for opening the upper-jaw sinus to make room for dental implants. It is for people with very little bone in the back of the upper jaw who need implants for missing teeth.
This study compares two ways to build up bone in the upper jaw for dental implants. You may qualify if you need a sinus lift and have healthy gums and overall health.
This trial tests a new combination of materials (erythropoietin, albumin, and platelet-rich fibrin) to help rebuild bone in the upper jaw during a sinus lift procedure. If you need a dental implant but have limited bone height, this approach may allow the implant to be placed at the same time as the lift.
This trial tests a bone graft made of your own bone mixed with cow bone (Deproteinized Bovine Bone) to rebuild the upper jaw in the sinus area. It compares this mixed bone graft to using only cow bone for a sinus lift, helping you get implants when there is not enough bone height.
