Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 85 years old.
  • You must have two or more lung spots (nodules) seen on a CT scan, with at least one that can be removed by surgery and another that is better treated with a needle-guided heat or cold procedure.
  • You must be healthy enough for surgery that doesn't require a breathing tube (non-intubated VATS) and for a robot-assisted CT-guided procedure.
  • You cannot have bleeding problems, take blood thinners that can't be stopped, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Nodules cannot be in risky locations near large blood vessels, airways, or the heart, and very small pure ground-glass nodules (under 6 mm) are not included.
