Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You have a blocked artery in your thigh or behind the knee (the superficial femoral or popliteal artery)
  • Your leg symptoms are limiting your walking but you are not at risk of losing your leg (Rutherford category 2–5)
  • A wire can be passed through the blocked area during the procedure
  • You are not allergic to paclitaxel, nitinol metal, or contrast dye; and you do not have severe kidney disease
