This trial looks at how premature babies (born between 28 and 31 weeks, 6 days) who weigh 1000–1500 grams grow and handle their feedings. It only includes babies who are exclusively fed their mother's milk or donor human milk and who don't have serious health problems at the start.

  • Birth weight between 1000 grams (2.2 lbs) and 1500 grams (3.3 lbs)
  • Only receiving breast milk or donor human milk
  • No major birth defects, severe infections, or serious bowel issues at the start
  • Parent or guardian gives permission
