Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have had dry eye for at least 6 months
- Your dry eye is moderate to severe, with symptoms like a score above 60 on a dry eye questionnaire
- Your tear film breaks up quickly (less than 7 seconds) and your tear production is low (less than 10 mm on a Schirmer test)
- You have not used certain eye medications (like cyclosporine or steroid drops) in the last 7 days
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you can become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control
