Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have advanced liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) confirmed by biopsy or imaging.
- Your liver cancer must be at a stage called B or C on the Barcelona scale, which means it is more advanced.
- You cannot have received any previous cancer drug treatment for liver cancer.
- You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan.
- Your liver function must be fairly good, as measured by the Child-Pugh score (A or B7).
- Your daily activities should be mostly unaffected (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- You must not have had certain types of liver cancer like fibrolamellar or mixed cell types.
- You cannot have another active cancer in the last 5 years, except for some cured skin or early stage cancers.
- You cannot have had an organ transplant, like a liver transplant.
- You must not have had serious bleeding or stomach/intestinal problems in the last few months.
- You must not have HIV or other immune system problems.
