Who can take part

  • You must be able to sign consent and join the study voluntarily
  • You are age 18 to 80, and you have a diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of liver cancer
  • Your liver cancer is advanced (BCLC stage B or C) and not suitable for curative surgery or local procedures
  • You have not had prior “systemic” (whole-body) drug treatment for liver cancer
  • Your liver function is good enough (Child-Pugh score 7 or lower) and you have no past liver “brain” complication (hepatic encephalopathy)
  • You do not have certain complicating situations (like specific rare liver cancer types, recent other cancers, or certain serious fluid build-ups or blood vessel tumor blockages)
