Who can take part

  • You are a woman scheduled for a planned hysterectomy (removal of the uterus).
  • You are in good general health—rated as ASA grade I or II by your anesthesia team.
  • Your BMI (body mass index) is under 35.
  • Your hemoglobin is greater than 7 gm% (not severely anemic).
  • You do not have neuromuscular disorders, uncontrolled medical conditions, or autoimmune diseases requiring immune-suppressing drugs.
