Who can take part

  • You have a non-cancerous or early-stage growth in your rectum that is at least 2 cm (about 0.8 inches) in size
  • Two experienced doctors have said the growth cannot be safely removed with standard colonoscopy techniques
  • You are healthy enough for anesthesia (rated ASA I-III)
  • You do not have signs that the growth has spread deep into the rectal wall
  • You do not have other colon growths that need surgery
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners that cannot be stopped
