Who can take part
- You are 19 years or older and are scheduled for surgery for stomach cancer.
- You do not have any uncontrolled serious medical conditions, like unstable diabetes, recent stroke, severe infection, or heart failure.
- You have not received nutrition through an IV (parenteral nutrition) in the 7 days before the study starts.
- Your blood tests do not show severe metabolic problems, such as very high triglycerides, liver or kidney issues, or uncontrolled diabetes.
