Who can take part

  • You are in the ICU after abdominal surgery (open, laparoscopic, or robotic).
  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • This is your first time in the ICU after this surgery.
  • You do not have kidney failure needing dialysis.
  • You do not have severe failure of multiple organs (SOFA score ≥9) when you entered the ICU.
  • You are able to give informed consent and do not have a 'do not resuscitate' order.
