Who can take part

  • You are 8 years old or older.
  • You have a shoulder or knee injury that needs surgery.
  • The surgery you need is a common, planned type (like fixing a torn ACL, repairing cartilage, or treating a rotator cuff).
  • You are able to understand the study and agree to follow up after surgery.
  • You are not having surgery for a severe emergency injury like a broken bone or multiple major injuries.
  • You do not have a serious mental health condition or trouble thinking that would make it hard to follow instructions.
