- You are 18 years old or older
- You are currently admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU)
- You have acute kidney injury (sudden kidney failure) and are receiving continuous renal replacement therapy (a machine that filters waste from your blood)

- You do not have a known allergy or serious reaction to citrate
