Who can take part
- Age 18–90 years old
- Have sepsis (a serious blood infection) and developed severe kidney damage within 7 days
- Need continuous kidney-support treatment (CRRT) for at least 48 hours
- Able to provide written consent or have a legal representative do so
- Do not have other conditions that require blood thinners or make blood thinning unsafe
- Do not have chronic kidney disease requiring regular long-term dialysis
