Who can take part
- Female, age 18 or older at time of surgery
- Biopsy-confirmed breast cancer (invasive lobular, ductal carcinoma in situ, or invasive with ductal component)
- Planned breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy, not full breast removal)
- Not pregnant at time of surgery
- No prior chemotherapy or hormone therapy for this cancer
- No known allergy to acriflavine (the fluorescent dye used by the scanner)
