Smartwatch Study of Hot Flashes in Prostate Cancer Patients

This study tests whether a smartwatch can accurately measure hot flashes (sudden heat and sweating) that occur in men undergoing hormone therapy for prostate cancer. You'll wear the smartwatch for about 4 weeks while the research team tracks your symptoms.

Who can take part

  • You have prostate cancer and are currently receiving hormone therapy (ADT) to lower testosterone
  • Your testosterone level is confirmed to be very low (below 50 ng/dL) or your PSA has dropped with treatment
  • You are experiencing hot flashes at least once per day since starting hormone therapy
  • You own a compatible smartphone (iPhone 8+ with iOS 16+ or Android 12+) with Bluetooth and data/Wi-Fi
  • Your wrist size is between 95–222 mm (roughly 3.7–8.7 inches) and you can press a small button on a smartwatch
  • You are able to read, speak, and understand English
