- You are a woman between 18 and 65 years old.
- You are scheduled for breast cancer surgery that includes removing lymph nodes from your armpit.
- Your weight is within a healthy range for your height (BMI between 18 and 35).
- You are able to use a pain pump that you control yourself.
- You do not have allergies to numbing medicines, infections at the injection site, bleeding problems, or take blood thinners.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have severe liver or kidney disease.
