Inflammation Markers and Recovery After Surgery in Older Adults

Geriatric AnesthesiaPostop Adult ICU Patients

This study follows older adults (65+) admitted to intensive care after surgery to see if blood cell counts can predict how well they recover. Researchers believe certain patterns in white blood cells and platelets may help doctors identify patients at higher risk.

NCT07409467Not yet recruiting
Predicting surgery risks for older adults

This study aims to build a tool that helps predict risks for older adults (65+) before planned major non-cardiac surgery. By understanding what factors affect recovery, doctors may be better able to plan your care.

NCT07460141Recruiting
Blood tests to predict death risk after surgery in the ICU

This study is looking at whether certain blood tests can help predict the risk of death after surgery in ICU patients. If you have had surgery and are now in the ICU, your blood samples may help doctors learn more.

NCT07411612Recruiting
Blood markers and confusion after surgery in older adults

This study looks at how inflammation and brain-related substances in the blood after surgery are linked to confusion (delirium) in older adults. It aims to find early warning signs to prevent this common complication.

Vienna
NCT06727903Recruiting
Predicting survival for older ICU patients

This study aims to create a tool to predict survival in older adults (75+) who are admitted to the ICU from the emergency room. It may help doctors better understand individual risks and make more informed care decisions.

NCT07656311Enrolling by invitation
Platelet size as early warning for cancer ICU patients

This study looks at whether the size of platelets in your blood when you enter the intensive care unit (ICU) can help predict your chances of recovery. It focuses on adults with cancer who are in the ICU for more than 24 hours and aims to find early signs of risk.

Immune and inflammation study in ICU patients

This study looks at how your immune system and inflammation affect your recovery in the intensive care unit. Researchers want to understand why some patients do better than others.
