Who can take part

  • Your baby was born prematurely, before 32 weeks of pregnancy
  • Your baby is admitted to a neonatology department (premature baby intensive care unit)
  • You consent to the study and allow doctors to use leftover blood from routine newborn screening for genetic testing
  • Your baby's complete medical records from birth and hospitalization are available
  • Your baby does not have known genetic conditions, chromosomal abnormalities, or major birth defects
  • Your baby survived beyond the first 7 days after birth
