Breast Cancer Detection on Chest CT Scans

This study tests whether routine chest CT scans—imaging done for other reasons—can reliably find breast cancer. Researchers will compare chest CT results with mammograms and/or breast MRI to see if this approach could catch breast cancers earlier without extra imaging.

Who can take part

  • You are a woman who has had a non-contrast chest CT scan (a type of imaging that takes pictures of your chest)
  • You also have had at least one other breast imaging test, such as a mammogram or breast MRI, done within 3 months of your chest CT
  • If any breast lumps or abnormal areas were found on imaging, they must have been confirmed by biopsy or checked with follow-up imaging/visits for at least 12 months
  • You have not received cancer treatment (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiation) before your imaging scans
  • Your imaging scans must be complete, clear, and good quality—without blurring or artifacts that make interpretation difficult
