Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You need elective (planned) robotic surgery to remove all or part of a kidney because of cancer
- Your overall health allows moderate surgery (ASA class I–III)
- You are a candidate for same-day or next-day discharge after surgery
- You have not taken prescription opioid pain medications regularly in the last 3 months
- You do not have chronic pain that is not well controlled, and you can tolerate NSAIDs and regional anesthesia (numbing shots)
