Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a robotic-assisted surgery on your upper urinary tract (like kidney or ureter surgery).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have conditions that make spinal anesthesia risky, such as a bleeding disorder, severe heart valve problems, or previous back surgery with rods.
- You do not have conditions that make lidocaine risky, such as an allergy to local anesthetics, myasthenia gravis, severe kidney or liver disease, or serious heart rhythm problems.
- You have not participated in this trial before.
