This trial tests whether adding a cancer drug called imatinib to standard malaria treatment works better and is safe. Researchers will enroll adults and children with uncomplicated malaria caused by P. falciparum parasites and monitor them in the hospital for 2–3 days.

Who can take part
- Diagnosed with uncomplicated (not severe) P. falciparum malaria with a parasite count of at least 5,000 parasites per microliter of blood
- Adults aged 18–55 (non-pregnant women must use active birth control) OR children aged 12 months to under 18 years with a parent/guardian's consent
- Able to stay in the hospital for 48–72 hours and attend follow-up visits
- No anti-malarial medications in the past 4 weeks (or 6 weeks for children)
- Normal blood counts, liver, kidney, and heart function (confirmed by blood tests)
- No other serious infections, heart disease, or use of certain medications that interact with the trial drugs
