Who can take part

  • You are having an elective (planned, not emergency) procedure to treat atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeats) under general anesthesia
  • You are an adult and able to understand and sign an informed consent form
  • You speak French fluently
  • You have a healthy heart function or no serious heart conditions that would require special anesthesia drugs
  • You are not taking benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety or sleep medications) regularly
  • You have a BMI (body weight measure) of 40 or less
