Cheekbone Implants With Two Tissue Coverage Methods

Soft Tissue Augmentation at Dental Implants

This trial compares two ways to cover and support cheekbone implants (zygomatic implants) in patients with severe upper jaw bone loss. The study tests whether a natural fat pad from your cheek or a special fibrin product (made from your own blood) works better to protect the implant and keep soft tissue thickness stable.

Who can take part

  • Your upper back teeth area has severe bone loss that cannot be fixed by other treatments
  • You have at least 8–12 mm of bone height in the front upper jaw to place 2 standard implants
  • You lack bone support in the back upper jaw due to sinus enlargement
  • You are in good overall health and can safely have surgery
  • You do not smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day
  • You do not have uncontrolled diabetes or take certain bone-loss medications (bisphosphonates)
