Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You have kidney stones smaller than 2 centimeters (about the size of a small bean)
- You are scheduled to have retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS)—a minimally invasive procedure to remove kidney stones
- You do not have an active urinary tract infection
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood-thinning medications that cannot be stopped
- You are able to lie on your back with your legs up (the lithotomy position) during surgery
