Who can take part
- Age 18–60 and able to give informed consent
- HIV-positive with lowest CD4 count historically between 250–450 cells/mm³, and current CD4 count above 450
- On stable HIV medications for at least 48 weeks with undetectable viral load (<50 copies/mL) for at least 48 weeks
- No history of serious HIV-related infections or cancers (except recurrent pneumonia)
- Willing to temporarily stop HIV medications under close monitoring and use condoms during that time
- Good overall health: normal blood counts, liver and kidney function; no active hepatitis B or C, heart disease, diabetes (except well-controlled type 2), or severe allergies to vaccines or vaccine ingredients
